It's just one more reason to love Jonathan Sexton!
The Irish international rugby star this week visited Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin (OLCHC) where he was announced as an official ambassador for the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation (CMRF), the fundraising arm of OLCHC. The Ireland and Racing Metro out-half will balance his busy training and match schedule and his new role as a CMRF ambassador.
The announcement of Dublin native Sexton as a CMRF ambassador is timely with the CMRF currently in the midst of raising some €1.5million for a new out-patients clinic at OLCHC with the very real possibility of the new clinic being delayed if sufficient funds are not raised.
Commenting on his new role as an ambassador for the CMRF, Jonathan Sexton commented; “I am honoured to be in a position to help the children of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin as part of my role as an ambassador for the CMRF. I really enjoyed meeting all the children in the hospital who are extremely brave and inspirational considering the everyday challenges they face.”
Also commenting on the announcement was Joe Quinsey, CEO of the CMRF; “We are delighted to welcome Johnny on board as an official ambassador for the CMRF. He is already one of Ireland’s most successful sports stars and is someone all Irish people both admire and are proud of. We have no doubt Johnny will be a fantastic ambassador for us at a time when the need for donations and continued fundraising is paramount.”
