'Tis not quite the season just yet – but that doesn't mean we can't all start getting a little excited for Christmas already.

Earlier this week, UK high street giant John Lewis revealed its Christmas decoration themes for 2021, and honestly, we can feel our festive spirit rearing its head already.

Trend One: Snow Mountain
This Christmas decoration trend is inspired by the Scottish Highlands, with its mountain wildlife and dramatic snowy landscapes. John Lewis says this timeless colour scheme is always a favourite with its customers, while modernising the look is easy – simply layer warm neutrals, soft blue tones and silver for a magical feel.
Trend Two: Gemstone Forest
The Gemstone Forest Christmas decorations trend is all about magical forests, mythical creatures and a fairytale-like landscape. John Lewis has paired rich colours found in a forest at twilight with accent brights to give a luxurious and fun finish.
Trend Three: Luxe City
This festive decorating trend was inspired by cities and their architecture. It's described as a contemporary theme with a stylish colour palette, and plays on the geometry found in towering buildings as well as the warm glow of city lights.
Trend Four: Copper River
This Christmas tree decoration theme is inspired by a river’s natural stream of flowing water and its wildlife, including trout, otters and kingfishers. The mix of copper and different shades of blue works to create a serene but decadent look.
Trend Five: Blush Coast
his Christmas trend was inspired by the natural patterns found in waves, sand, salty rocks and barnacled sea creatures. The combination of blush tones and sea blues aims to capture the coast at that magical moment just after the sun has set.
Trend Six: Technicolours Supernature
Here, John Lewis has reinvented the natural world with bold colours and exaggerated features for a fun, escapist theme that the brand thinks will be a big hit with children this Christmas.
Trend Seven: Festive Field
A classic palette of festive red and gold is shot through with plenty of green in the form of foliage in this look. This traditional Christmas decorating theme was inspired by pastoral landscapes, so hedgerow creatures and homegrown produce both feature.
