Moving on from a relationship isn't always easy but giving your ex strange gifts probably isn't the best way to get over him or her.
After being dumped by his girlfriend, a man living in Washington DC (whose identity shall remain unknown) decided to send her 15 baby chicks with a note which read: "there are lots of chicks out there".
According to reports, the girl in question was going to throw the chicks away but the postman volunteered to bring them to an animal sanctuary.
He brought them to the Washington Humane Society before they were brought to the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Maryland.
Six of the birds are now living at Peaceful Fields Sanctuary and the rest will stay at the Poplar Spring sanctuary.
Just in case, you were wondering it is perfectly legal to send birds via post in the United States providing the parcel does not exceed 25lb (11kg).
While it might be legal, it's hard to believe as pointed out by Poplar Spring in the Facebook post below.
