Perhaps it’s because dance shows are everywhere these days. Or maybe it’s the fact that Strictly Come Dancing overtook The X Factor in the ratings war last year. Then again it might just be that ITV want to do something different.
Whatever the reason is, it has been revealed that the television broadcaster is going to have a new Saturday night dance programme.
Strictly Come Dancing sees celebrities dancing with professional dancers.
Apparently it’s a mix between Strictly and All Star Mr & Mrs in that it sees a group of celebrities take to the floor to be judged alongside their real-life other halves.
An insider told The Mirror: “It will be really funny seeing how they cope, learning a new skill together.”
All Star Mr & Mrs tests the strength of famous couples' relationships.
They added: “You’ll get situations where one’s far better than the other and is being held back by their wife or husband. Will they be sympathetic and help, or will they be impatient and get annoyed?”
However unlike Strictly, Britain's Got Talent or The X Factor there will be no eventual winner at the end of the show which is due to start this summer.
And while there will be no direct competition with the BBC's popular dance series it looks as if ITV has adopted the policy of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them.'
