The readers of Big 7 Travel Guide, in their infinite wisdom, have seen fit to rank Ireland as the least sexy country "on earth." The poll, conducted in December of 2018, actually only featured 50 countries, so we were actually just the ugliest of the bunch on offer... But it's still not a very strong result for us. The accompanying comment for our entry in the guide read: "Not even Jamie Dornan or Cillian Murphy could save the Irish from getting voted the least sexy nation in the world." Needless to say, we've also got Andrew Scott, Colin Farrell, Dermot Kennedy and Marty bloody Morrissey. So we're feeling quite aggrieved about this turn of events. Well guess what, we might not be traditionally sexy, but we're fun and funny and really good listeners, so. We don't need to be sexy, we have the Book of Kells. While the rest of the floozies can flaunt their looks, we will be here, ugly and dignified, safe in the knowledge that tourists come to Ireland for the right reasons. Here's how the top ten shaped up: 10th. Canadian 9th. English 8th. Armenian 7th. Italian 6th. South African 5th. Australian 4th. Brazilian 3rd. Filipino 2nd. Danish 1st. Ukrainian The good news is that Ireland was voted third by the same travel guide readers for sexiest accent. So it turns out were are smoking hot, as long as you don't look directly at us.
