Irish Man Photobombs A Selfie… Becomes Viral Star After Thai Girl Blogs To Track Him Down

David Atkinson has just come back from a two week trip to Thailand where he was visiting his brother James, when he became an overnight viral sensation after photobombing a series of selfies. David was at a 1975 concert, when he decided to have some fun and started photobombing people taking selfies in the packed theatre. David believes he must have been snapped more than 30 times, saying it was “incredible craic - especially when you haven’t a clue what anyone is saying, just laughing.” Heading home after a few weeks of mischief, David probably wasn’t expecting that his night of fun would turn him into an online sensation in Bangkok. David woke up this morning to a message on Facebook from his brother, who spied his brother’s face on a Bangkok Ex-Pats Facebook page. It turns out that the Irish charm had a lasting impression, with one of the selfie posers taking a shine to her new camera friend. The only problem is, David has never spoken to the girl. The girl blogged about her quest to track down the Irish man and now her post is gaining traffic in Thailand, with thousands sharing the image to their own Facebook page to help reunite the pair. Clearly surprised by the attention he received, David told us: “There are people linking my page on this blog in a bid to link us…I don’t know who she is though…should I make contact? I’m now back in Dublin. Will I go back!?!?” Proof that the course of true love never runs smoothly...
