From the splendour and breathtaking views of Iguazu Falls to the rolling plains of Patagonia, there is something for everyone in the awe-inspiring Argentina. Learn to tango in the heart of the capital of Buenos Aires or fall in love in the vineyards of Mendoza – wherever your Argentinian trip takes you, it’s sure to be an adventure. Iguazu Falls Although the famous waterfalls at Iguazu Falls can be viewed from both the Argentinian side and the Brazilian side, our personal favourite is the Argentinian side thus making it a must-stop on a trip to the country. Go early and make sure to pack a lunch as once you are standing in front of the powerful falls, you won’t want to leave. Handy hint: Take a boat trip through parts of the falls – getting soaked is a small price to pay from the beauty of what you will see. Buenos Aires The capital of Argentina has so much to offer the culture-loving tourist. Visit Florida Street for a spot of shopping, head to San Telmo for some stunning crafts and enjoy the hustle and bustle of a capital that’s full of welcoming and friendly people. Handy hint: Take a tango lesson in Buenos Aires and be sure to visit La Bomba de Tiempo a weekly percussion party at Konex with music you won’t be able to resist. Take a trip to the famous graveyard where Eva Perón - the inspiration behind hit musical Evita -  is buried. Football fan? If you are a fan of football, then Argentina is truly the place to be. Visit the old stomping grounds of footballing legends Maradona and Messi. Handy hint: Take a trip out to the quirky barrio of La Boca, where not only will you find some interesting architecture, you can also pay a trip to famous football club Boca Juniors and you might even be able to catch a match. Calling all you wine lovers Fancy a spot of wine? Then make a trip over to the beautiful Mendoza, pay a visit to the vineyards and sample some of the fantastic different wines that are on offer. Handy hint: Rent out a bike and take a tour of the area – it’s worth every minute. Quebrada de Humahuaca Quebrada de Humahuaca is a narrow mountain valley in the Province of Jujuy in the northwest of Argentina and follows the line of the cultural route, the Camino Inca and the spectacular valley of the Rio Grande. Handy hint: Take a day trip here if you are heading north from Buenos Aires and be sure to have batteries in your camera as you will want to capture every moment. If you are heading that way, stop in at the town of Salta too. Patagonia The stunning landscapes of Patagonia are a must-see on a trip to Argentina. Rent a car and take a tour of all the beautiful lakes and mountain areas and make sure to stock up on some mate (Argentinian tea) before you go! Handy hint: Book a horse-riding lesson with a world famous gaucho (Argentinian cowboy). They will take you on a breath-taking tour that you will never forget. Perito Moreno Glacier If Iguazu Falls didn’t leave you speechless than the stunning Perito Moreno Glacier certainly will. Located in the Los Glaciares National Park, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country. Situated about 48 miles from El Calafate (where you can fly to from Buenos Aires if you are pushed for time) the glacier has to be seen to be believed. Handy hint: If you want to make the trip extra special, rent out a car and take your time discovering the beautiful surrounds of the park. Fancy some skiing? If you are coming back up north from the Perito Moreno Glacier, stop in at the town of Bariloche. The town is a beautiful spot nestled at the foot of the Andes and is popular for ski-lovers. Handy hint: Bring a LOT of money – southern Argentina is very expensive. The south of the world Fancy going to the southernmost city in the world? Well, Ushuaia in southern Argentina is apparently the place to be. Head down there from a visit to the glaciers for some tasty food and beautiful views. Handy hint: Stay over one night to sample the best of what the town has to offer. Insider’s Tip: Argentina is a lot more expensive than other countries in South America so bring some extra cash. The climate changes from the north to the south, so although you might pack shorts and flip flops for some trips around the north, throw in some jeans and hoodies for the south as it gets pretty chilly!
