In fact, experts recommend that you avoid shaving or hair removal in general for at least two days before a pedicure.
The reason is that pedicure baths can be a breeding ground for bacteria, so if you have any invisible nicks or cuts from shaving, you're at huge risk of infection.
"People who have compromised immune systems, such as diabetics, people with HIV, the elderly or anyone with vascular disease or circulation problems, are more at risk.
Dr. Sutera explains that micro-tears caused by shaving allow bacteria to enter the leg, which can cause serious infections including cellulitis, warning that you can literally "end up in hospital".
Looks like we're just going to have to grin and hair it girls.
