Fifteen Irish restaurants have been issued with closure notices by the Food Safety Authority Of Ireland in May for breaches of food safety legislation. The organisation today issued a list of all fifteen outlets, warning that that the legal onus is on food businesses to act responsibly and ensure that the food they serve and sell is safe to eat at all times. Voujon Café in Tramore, Waterford, Jackson’s Restaurant and Guesthouse in Roscommon, Dragon Taste in Dolphins Barn, Dublin and Mr Ivan Ebbitt in Belturbet, Cavan were among those who received closure orders under the FSAI Act 1998. Meanwhile, a further eleven food outlets were served under the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations 2010, including The Palm Tree in Thurles, Tipperary, Cloughjordan House in Tipperary (closed activity: ceasing use of the private water supply to the food business), Trim and Healthy in Trim, Co Meath (activity closed: the decanting of foodstuffs in the premises) and Swords Manor Take-Away in Swords, County Dublin. Also affected were Chilli Kebabish in Limerick, Brosna Lodge Hotel in Banagher (kitchen and associated areas), Offaly, Jai Ho in Mallow, Cork, John Doyle’s Bar in Phibsborough, Dublin 7 (closed activity: production of ice in the basement ice machine), Starry Kitchen Ltd in Drumcondra, Dublin 9 and Mystic Picnic in Roundwood, Wicklow.
