Interpol has issued a global alert for a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour. "At the request of UK authorities Interpol has issued a Yellow Notice, or missing persons alert, for a five-year-old British boy removed from a hospital by his parents," the international police organisation said in a statement. According to officials, Ashya King's life is at risk because he needs constant care following recent surgery. Hampshire Assistant Chief Constable Chris Shead said: "It is really important that we find him and ensure he receives medical attention at the earliest opportunity." Earlier, Mr Shead said "time was running out" for Ashya. "It is vital that we find Ashya today, his health will deteriorate" said the constable. "If he doesn't receive urgent medical care, or the wrong treatment is given, his condition will become life-threatening. If Naghemeh or Brett or any of their children see or hear this appeal please take Ashya to the nearest hospital." It is believed that Ashya's parents, Brett and Naghemeh King, took him from a hospital in Southampton on Thursday afternoon without the consent of his doctors. Together with Ashya's six siblings, they boarded a ferry to Cherbourg yesterday. Hampshire Police believe that Ashya is in either a wheelchair or a buggy as he cannot move or communicate verbally. The family are thought to be travelling in a grey-coloured Hyundai I800 Style CRDI, registration KP60 HWK. It is thought that the family may travel to Spain as they have "strong links to Marbella" and police have urged people to remain vigilant as the search continues.  Image via Facebook
