Fancy Renting An Entire House in Some of Ireland’s Prime Locations For Just €300?

With house prices in Dublin and indeed across the rest of the country continuing to soar, this latest initiative could be just the thing prospective tenants’ need. Camelot Property Management are seeking tenants for properties in some of the most sought-after areas in Dublin and other parts of the country – and all at a bargain price. The project focuses on finding people to occupy vacant buildings in order to stop the building from falling into disrepair or being vandalised. “When you choose to become a Guardian, you do not pay rent. You pay the Camelot monthly management fees. These fees often include all utility bills, and are on average one third of the going market prices for similar size properties/rooms in that area,” their website reads. Competitive rent prices are offered to ‘guardians’ of the property with a five-bed house in Dublin 4, for example, at just €300. Elsewhere, properties in Galway, Cork, Limerick and Waterford are being rented at €150 or under. “There is a clear need for more rented accommodation in Ireland and there is also a rising vacant property issue that shows no sign of slowing down,” said Paul Cosnett, manager of Camelot for Ireland. “Our vacant property management solution addresses both these issues.” There is a catch though as the tenant is not given a guarantee for the length of time they will be allowed to stay in the property. Time frames differ anywhere from a couple of months to a few years. The company have estimated that there are more than 223,000 residential properties in Ireland, with a further 28,000 empty commercial buildings.
