A family dog alerted his owners to the fact that their son was being abused by the babysitter they had hired.
When Benjamin and Hope Jordan moved to Charleston they had to find a babysitter for their, then seven-month-old, son Finn.

They ended up hiring 22-year-old Alexis Khan who seemed liked a “good fit” and came up clean after a background check. But soon Benjamin and Hope noticed that their dog was becoming aggressive towards Alexis.
“About five months into her being our babysitter, we started to notice that our dog would be very defensive of our son when she would come in the door,” Benjamin explained. “He was very aggressive towards her and a few times we had to restrain our dog from going towards her.”
It prompted them to record what was going on in their home when they weren’t there. The iPhone sound recording revealed that Alexis was being abusive towards their son. They heard her telling him to “shut the f**k up” as well as slapping noises.

According to 5 Live News Alexis was later arrested. She confessed to the abuse before later pleading guilty to assault and battery. She has to serve at least one year of her 1-3 year prison sentence before she is eligible for parole.
She has also been placed on the child abuse registry, something that Finn’s parents are very happy about. Benjamin told the news station: “That is fantastic news for us, to know that maybe Finn’s ordeal has possibly saved another child’s life in the future.”
