The changes are part of Facebook's strategy to encourage users to share 'stories' rather than albums, so tags, locations and captions can all be added to snaps within this view. When the user is happy to hit upload, the chosen pictures are displayed in collage format.
Speaking to Mashable, Facebook product manager for photos Rose Yao said: "It's not just about the weddings and big trips. It's about the silly daily moments, too."
"I think Facebook is in some ways a proxy for dinner tables. It used to be you pulled out your wallet and showed people your latest photos of your kids or your dog. Now you can do this in the moment."Explore more on these topics:
