Facebook has banned this "honest" advert for a bra from their platform for being "offensive." The ad by Berlei Australia shows a diverse group of women putting on bras, taking off bras, and the trial and tribulations that come with the everyday task. Everything from painful wire marks to (pixelated) nip slips are shown in the ad, making it one of the more accurate representations of wearing a bra. Which is why Berlei are promoting their new product 'Womankind' - a bra that looks really comfortable and probably won't leave our chests aching at the end of the day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=15&v=OJXNY38q2S0 However, news.com/au is reporting that Facebook has banned the 45-second ad on the grounds that it could cause "potential offense to the community." They have said that Facebook's ad policy does not permit ads that focus on one part of the body, and that the ad has been banned due to “the pixilated nudity, overt focus on bouncing breasts and overly zoomed images.” Berlei, however, had other ideas about how their ad should be viewed. In a statement, the company said:

"The ad highlights the daily realities women have with their breasts in an honest and authentic way. Like the bra itself, the ad was designed to empower women to care for and invest in themselves."

Which makes sense considering the ad begins with the words: "We've been suppressed, bound, hidden away..." And Berlei aren't the only ones who are confused by the news.
