2. Talking it out is always good.
Even big mob bosses have to have the chats sometimes!

3. Family is important.
Tony proved on many an occasion that he would do pretty much anything to protect his family and take an interest in their future. This was really proven to us in the College episode. Sure, Tony killed someone along the way but he was there to help Meadow. Right? Right??

4. Extended family can often not be important.
Unfortunately, working for the mob or marrying into the mob can often lead to, well, death.
5. Don't cross your boss. Ever.
Especially if that boss happens to be Tony Soprano. You might as well just leave the country or move to the jungle. Forever. And your children. And your children's children.
6. He may be a mobster, but he's still your Dad.
What was really surprising about the Sopranos was that it showed us the less glamourous side of mob life. Tony still had to be the best father and husband he could be, but that didn't always work out the way it was planned.
7. Sometimes, they come back for one more, sometimes they just don't!
That Russian may have escaped the first time but he most certainly wasn't coming back.
8. Behind every great man, is an even more powerful woman.
We all thought we knew that Tony Soprano was in charge, but we know who he answered to and that was always Carmela. Sometimes Dr. Melfi, but most of the time it was Carmela.
9. Some couple's just are not meant to be apart.
Let's just say that the episode where Carmela and Tony announced their split was one of the most difficult things to watch... and that includes all of the other horrible stuff that happened in the show.
10. Confrontation is the key.
We're not really suggesting confronting people with hammers and guns, but, you know, asking people what is going on might be a step in the right direction.
11. Trust no one.
Especially if someone says something along the lines of "we're just going to go for a quick drive."
