OK - so this is just massively controversial.
Yup, and not least because it's St Patrick's weekend, we've only discovered something which we reckon will upset a whole load of folk.
We all know that scrolling through hundreds of emojis on Insta Stories is annoying and time-consuming - not least when you're searching for something that isn't the red love heart; laughing crying face, or see no evil monkey.
And during a time in which Ireland's rugby team won a Grand Slam in Twickenham and the nation celebrates its patron saint, we imagine there's a high demand for the Irish tricolour flag emoji on Insta Stories.
However, if you look for 'Ireland' in the emoji search function you are presented with not with a tricolour nor shamrock... but instead with - a Union Jack flag.
Hard to believe? We agree... but here's the proof (and try it out for yourself):

We don't imagine there's anything malicious in Instagram's decision to represent Ireland as a United Kingdom flag. However, considering we've enjoyed independence from 'themselves' for close-to 100 years - we can't help but request that the Insta powers-that-be address the issue as soon as possible.
PS... Search for Scotland and you get a whiskey emoji.
Meanwhile, searching for England, United Kingdom, and Britain all throw up the same Union Jack symbol... so all-in-all go figure.
