Brought to you by Barretstown This promises to be a really special event. The Dublin Mountains Challenge in aid of children’s charity Barretstown is just around the corner! Taking place on Sunday May 29^th, the challenge will see hundreds of walkers taking on the beautiful Dublin Mountains Way, one of Ireland’s most scenic trails. Sponsored by Lucozade Sport Ireland, all of the money raised will go towards much-needed funds for Barretstown. Interested in taking part? There are two options for anyone thinking of getting involved. The event starts in Tallaght and you can choose to walk the 24km route to Three Rock or the 42km route to Shankhill. You can register yourself or a team of four here. In addition to a registration fee of €50 for the 24km or €75 for the 42km, all participants are asked to raise €100 if participating individually and €400 on behalf of the team. For more info about registering click here. Based in Co. Kildare, and founded by Hollywood legend, Paul Newman, Barretstown is a specially-designed camp that provides unique therapeutic recreation programmes for children with serious illnesses and their families. Whilst being closely supervised and skilfully supported by committed experts, the children get to go out, play and have fun, with life-changing results. Barretstown is free of charge to all campers and over €4.8 million must be raised each year to maintain the services of the camp. By taking part in the Dublin Mountains Challenge, you are helping to bring more children and families to Barretstown each year.
