There are so many films on TV on a weekly basis, we thought we would draw your attention to some of the better movies that you can check out from the comfort of your own home. Here are seven of the best films that are on TV this week.
1. Closer, Monday, TG4, 9.30pm.
The very definition of messy relationships, Closer tells the story of two couples whose lives are intertwined over the course of a few years. Portman is simply stunning here.
2. The Grey, Tuesday, Film4, 10.40pm.
Following Taken, everyone expected that the Grey would be just another one of those films. Far from it. Well scripted, well acted and full of adrenalin, this is one of Neeson's finest performances. Well worth a look.
3. Due Date, Wednesday, RTÉ1, 9.35pm.
It wasn't the greatest film in the entire world but watching Robert Downey Jr. desperately try to get home to his wife who is about to give birth was a little entertaining when you included Zach Galifianakis along the way.
4. Zombieland, Thursday, Film4, 9pm.
This is without a shadow of a doubt one of Bill Murray's finest cameos. On top of that, you have Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone trying to hunt down zombies. What's not to like here?
5. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Friday, TG4,9.35pm.
A Clint Eastwood classic, this film is often listed in the best Westerns of all time and deservedly so, it's tense, brilliant and just the right amount of gritty.
6. A Time to Kill, Saturday, RTÉ1, 10.10pm.
Remember Matthew McConaughey before all of those ridiculous rom-coms? Not really? Well, here's your chance to see the talent that would later make a reappearance in Dallas Buyers Club. An old thriller but a good one.
7. Babe, Sunday, Sky Movies Family, 8pm.
It's Sunday evening, you need to get rid of that work fear before the week ahead and what better way to do it than with an adorable talking pig? That'll do.
