Dublin Fire Brigade have shared a fairly accurate depiction as to why you should never light a barbecue on a balcony.
Shared to their Twitter account today, the images show the charred remains of a wooden decked balcony in an apartment block in Finglas.
"Firefighters from Finglas stopped a balcony fire from spreading to an apartment block following a fire started by the use of a BBQ," they wrote.
"The use of BBQs on balconies is not allowed in many apartment complexes. This is the reason why."

The images show part of the balcony completely burnt away from the intensity of the fire with the remainder of it entirely blackened by the flames.
Dublin Fire Brigade regularly share warnings around the use of BBQs, particularly in the summer when people are more inclined to be consuming food outside.
These include:
Place your BBQ on level ground and keep it away from anything that can catch fire such as fences, trees, and sheds.
Never use a BBQ indoors or on a balcony
Only use BBQ starter fuel, never petrol or paraffin
Never leave a BBQ unattended
Never empty ashes into the wheelie bin
Keep children and pets away from a BBQ
Don't drink too much alcohol while manning a BBQ
Place disposable BBQs on concrete only, not wooden surfaces or decking
If BBQing in the countryside, use designated areas only
Keep a bucket of water or sand nearby in case of emergency
After cooking, ensure the BBQ food is cool enough before removing it
