Would you agree?
It seems like everyday, there is a new '#1 secret to a lasting relationship'. Obviously each couple is different and it all comes down to individual pairs, but it is interesting to see what it is the majority thinks is the key to a happy couple.
New findings suggest that keeping the house clean together is an important element of the relationship. 63% of men and 58% say that doing chores together is very important for the relationship.
Doing chores together even ranked ahead of having children (43%) and having an adequate income (42%).
Interestingly, this was more important to younger couples than it was to older ones. 67% of 18 to 29-year-old people in a couple felt it was important compared to 56% of couples aged over 65.
Delegating chores and working together is a big factor in how couples rate their relationship, so doing the dishes together is actually pretty important.
However, 64% of couples agreed that having shared interests was very important. This was followed by 61% of couples who felt a good sexual relationship was crucial.
So the next time your other half isn't doing enough around the house, tell them it's for the good of the relationship for them to pick up some of the slack.
