In a study by the University of Chicago 19,131 people responded to a survey by Harris Interactive about their marriages and satisfaction. About 6% of people who dating online had broken up in comparison to 7.6% of people who met offline. People were also asked to rate their marriage satisfaction and online daters reported a score of around 5.64 in comparison to the score of 5.48 given by people who met offline. The study did not determine a definite reason as to why the online marriages were happier but has some theories.
