Coronation Street bosses are facing a crisis after sacking Chris Fountain over the rape rap scandal.
Apparently the other cast members aren’t happy about the way the 25-year-old, who played Tommy Duckworth on the soap, was treated.
Chris Fountain was let go after he was unveiled as rapper The Phantom.
An insider told the Daily Star: “There is a lot of unrest in the camp. Many feel that Chris paid the price for the allegations against others and if the circumstances had been different he would have been let off with a stern warning.
“Chris was really well liked around the set and the cast and crew were all devastated when he was given the bullet.”
Michelle Keegan is one of the many stars leaving the popular soap.
The source added: “With the two Michelles (Michelle Keegan and Michelle Collins) leaving soon it is prompting quite a few others to start thinking their future lies elsewhere. They’re thinking why should they pledge their loyalty to a show that treats its stars as badly as Chris has been treated.”
Despite issuing an apology, Fountain was sacked after it emerged that he was the rapper behind a song about rape and violence.
