If you fall and break your arm while practicing some Dirty Dancing, don’t blame the nightclub, baby.
That’s the message from the courts anyway, as Ciara O’Connell from Tallaght has lost her claim against legendary Dublin nightclub Cooper Face Jacks, beloved of country exiles in the capital.
O’Connell, 33, was dancing with colleague Noel Humphries 52, to a Shakira track when the pair attempted a routine inspired by the beloved movie. While they were busting a move, Humphries fell and landed on O’Connell, who suffered a broken arm.

The pair were attempting some Dirty Dancing style moves when the accident happened
O’Connell alleged that the floor of the Harcourt street club had been slippery at the time, and sued the nightclub for negligence, but today Mr. Justice Sean Ryan rejected her claim.
The Irish Examiner reports that the costs of the case have been awarded against Ms. O’Connell also, which leads to a very expensive night out indeed. We may think twice about our next attempt at channeling Johnny and Baby this weekend…
