Make this the one thing you listen to today.  Cork camogie captain and All-Ireland champion Ashling Thompson has spoken out this week about coping with depression. The talented camogie player spoke to the Anton Savage show on Today FM on Wednesday morning to coincide with Mental Health Awareness week. Cork won the All-Ireland this year. “You don’t see depression, it’s very hard to come to terms with it,” she explained. “I blocked everyone else and felt no one could help me.” Looking back, Thompson revealed that injuries she had sustained in a car accident in 2009 had greatly affected her performance on the pitch. She gives a powerful interview.  As a result, she wasn't able to play to her full potential and soon lost her love and passion for the game and found her life going down a different path - one that she struggled to deal with.
