When it comes to fundraising, there can be quite a lot of organising involved.
From idea generation, to managing the money, to local advertising – it can be quite a task and involves a good committee that know what they are doing.
Every week, we’re going to provide you with a step by step guide to making your fundraising event a success.
This week we’re looking at coming up with building a committee.
It’s all about team effort. Don’t feel like you have to organise and plan everything on your own. Chat to friends and family who might be interested in helping out.
Why not advertise that you’re looking for people to volunteer to take part in a good cause? For example, if you’re supporting the Irish Cancer Society someone might know someone who has been affected by the disease and may want to support the campaign.
Make sure that you have someone on your committee who’s good with numbers as they will be key to calculating what funds you take in.
It might also be an idea to source someone who’s good at art to help with posters and potential advertising online. Those who are tech savvy may also prove to be an asset to your committee!
With your committee in place you can then start focussing on what fundraising ideas will be most effective and set out your plan of action to raise funds.
The Irish Cancer Society are running their Big Championship campaign, Clubs vs Cancer this year. Find out more about it on their website here.
