Three years ago, Katie Breland Hughes was paralysed from the waist down in a car crash.
When her husband Odie Hughes proposed, Katie was determined to walk down the aisle to meet him on their special day.
Footage uploaded to YouTube this week shows the Louisiana woman walk to meet Odie accompanied by her father and physiotherapist.
According to the New York Daily News, Katie was driving to work one morning in October 2011 when she missed a stop sign. A truck then slammed into the side of the car.
Speaking to news station WAFB, the 27-year-old said that she "went through the windshield and landed in a ditch area".
"That might have been OK, but then my car followed me and landed on top of me" continued Katie.
Katie woke up in hospital with severe burns and was told she was paralsyed from the waist down.
The personal trainer then underwent multiple surgeries and skin grafts. Determined to walk again, she had months of intense rehabilitation and this enabled her to walk down the aisle to meet Odie.
