Some of Ireland’s leading businesses are showing their pink pride today as the Irish Cancer Society launch this year’s official ‘Pink Partners’, highlighting companies that are joining forces to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Society this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Companies that are joining the fight against one of the most common cancers are Centra, Ballyfree Eggs, Shiseido, Arnotts, Esso, Boots, ghd, Barry’s Tea, Prestigious Textiles, Monahan’s Cashmere, Curves, Zumba Fitness and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.
All the money donated by this year’s generous ‘Pink Partners’ will go to the Irish Cancer Society’s Action Breast Cancer programme which provides breast cancer information and support services to thousands of women across Ireland each year. Receiving less than 5% of income from government funding, the Irish Cancer Society rely on public support and the support of organisations like our ‘Pink Partners’ to fund vital services. The 2013 corporate ‘Pink Partners’ will all be contributing something different, from pink products like the Centra bag to a charity car wash.
This year’s ‘Pink Partners’ include;
- Ballyfree Eggs will be donating funds from sales of their pink packaged free range eggs, which will be available from leading Irish retailers.
- Barry’s Tea will be donating 10c from special pink packs of Barry’s Gold Blend Tea which will be available to purchase in all 460 Centra stores located nationwide from October 15th.
- Boots retailers will be selling boxes of ‘pink’ merchandise such as pins, ribbons and key chains in their 74 stores located nationwide.
- Centra, Ireland’s leading convenience retailer, will be selling a stylish limited edition ‘bag for life’ for €3 in 460 Centra stores nationwide wide in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. In addition to this, over 200 Centra retailers in local communities across Ireland will be hosting a pink walk throughout October with all proceeds donated to the charity. Centra will also be donating funds from the sale of Centra own brand products such as Pink Bouquets of Flowers & Potted Plants, Pink Milk, Pink Lady Apples and punnets of Mushrooms.
- Curves will be asking new customers to make a donation of €25 instead of a membership fee which will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society.
- Esso retailers will be selling boxes of ‘pink’ merchandise such as pins, ribbons and key chains and will be organizing a Charity car wash on Friday 4th October – from 1-5pm at various locations around Dublin.
- Fashion Targets Breast Cancer will be selling t-shirts for €30. The t-shirt features the iconic FTBC target symbol designed by Ralph Lauren in memory of his late friend Nina Hyde, the Washington Post columnist, who died of breast cancer. All of the proceeds from the sale of the target t-shirt, which will retail for €30, will go to the Irish Cancer Society and Europa Donna Ireland. To get yours, visit the online shop at www.cancer.ie
- ghd will be donating €10 from sales of the new ghd V pink diamond styler set sold in salons located nationwide and on ghdhair.com/ie.
- Ladies Gaelic Football Association are getting behind the Irish Cancer Society this October helping raise awareness and money for women affected by breast cancer.You can lend your support by purchasing a pink bandana for €2 by calling the Ladies Gaelic office on 01 836 3156.
- Monaghan’s Cashmere will be donating 50% from the sales of their pink pure cashmere socks during October. The socks, priced at €40, are available from Monaghan’s Cashmere store in the Royal Hibernian Way, off Dawson Street.
- Prestigious Textiles / SLX - Styleline Express donate 2% of sales throughout the year, from their range of home furnishing products, to the Irish Cancer Society. They, with their retail partners, also organised a very successful “As Easy As ABC” Home Design Event to mark the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month.Prestigious Textiles / SLX - Styleline Express products are available from all good home retail stores.
- Shiseido will be donating funds from sales of their Shiseido Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream 50ml during the month of October at all participating department stores & pharmacies. Arnotts will be matching Shiseido’s donation in its store.
