Four whole days of "deadly adventures."

Why, yes please! From October 25 to 28, the home of Bram Stoker himself is coming alight once more with a whole host of spook-tastic events. To celebrate the man behind the myth, expect celebrations in the dark of night, dress-up screenings in the Botanic Gardens (we're going!) and literary events in celebration of one of our most treasured authors. We're sure it would all make the Dracula creator proud. It's Bram Stoker Festival Festival 2019! Whether you're an avid Dracula fan or you're someone who loves a scare and some magic around Halloween, you're in for a real treat. It's taking place on the Bank Holiday in different venues throughout the city, making countless events even easier to get to also. On day one of the festival, get to the Insta Terror (21 October to 28 October). It's a horror story told over Instagram and it's pretty unique! Follow the haunting tale as it unfolds throughout the whole week. Next up is a pop-up Victorian fun park to keep everyone (including kids!) busy on Saturday and Sunday — it's Stokerland. Get yourselves to St Patrick's Cathedral where you'll find a spooky food village, performances at the theatre and a whole bunch of old-school funfair rides you should most definitely have a go on. On Monday (the bank holiday) there's even Dracula's Disco at the Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, where Dracula's own DJ Will Softly will keep dancing zombies, ghosts and of course, dancing queens utterly satisfied. Better yet, it's entirely free! Another superb event that just so happens to be free is the Spooky Stories at Marsh's. Taking place in the very halls that Bram Stoker himself sat in, as he read through numerous books that undoubtedly helped him to become the celebrated literary figure he is today, this event is fantastic for anyone who enjoys a good ghost story. Expect a few goosebumps, friends. This is only the tip of the iceberg, however. If you want to see what else is taking place (spoiler: there's a lot), take a look at the entire schedule here. If you're visiting Dublin for the Bram Stoker Festival this year, there are countless hotels in and around Dublin that will be perfect for the long weekend. For a start, there's Clontarf Castle — how very fitting for a Dracula-inspired weekend!
