Cathy Kelly is one of the country’s most loved authors and her latest offering It Started With Paris certainly doesn’t disappoint.
It starts with Katy and Michael who are set to marry having gotten engaged, at the top of the Eiffel Tower in the most romantic city in the world, and can’t wait to tell their nearest and dearest back in Bridgeport.
But not everyone is in a position to share in their joy as Katy’s best friend Leila is struggling to get over her love rat husband and deal with the guilt she has about her mother.
There’s also Vonnie (a widow who has recently found love again) Grace (who is having to spend more and more time with her ex-husband in the lead up to her son’s wedding) and Ruby (a teenager who is struggling to cope).
Cathy Kelly creates relatable, intertwined situations using a rich array of characters caught up in romantic but realistic situations. Her flowing narrative, which flits from drama to drama, will have you turning the pages well into the evening.
It’s a delightful novel which will keep you captivated and leave you counting down the days until Cathy Kelly’s next release.
