Sunday drives require three things, scenic views, good music and most importantly a cheeky ice cream along the way. To celebrate the launch of the spacious new Toyota C-HR 5 Door C-SUV we've selected six lovely Sunday drives around Ireland and chosen the best ice cream places to stop at en route. So get the music turned up, grab the girls and head off on a Sunday drive to remember. 1. The drive: Mourne Mountains

The scenic Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland are the perfect destination for a leisurely Sunday drive. During your trip you can stop off at the striking  St.John's Lighthouse to get stunning views across Dundrum Bay towards the Mournes. Another great option for a Sunday drive is Slieve Gullion Forest Park. The drive through the park offers impressive views of the landscape and provides access to the trail leading to the top of the mountain itself. The ice cream: Nugelato You may remember that a few months ago we wrote a story about an ice cream shop in Newry that had Nutella on tap. Yes, actual Nutella! The shop in question was Nugelato and it is only a short drive from the Mourne Mountains so you'd be mad not to pop in. Nutella on tap people!   2. The drive: Bray to Dublin It's an oldie but a goldie. If you're living in Dublin/Wicklow and haven't driven from Bray to Dublin what are you doing with yourself? The drive which is just over 20km long takes you through Killiney, Dalkey and Dún Laoghaire. During the drive you are guaranteed stunning views of both Dublin city and the coast. The ice cream: Teddy's, Dún Laoghaire On your journey to Dublin, you should stop off in the coastal town of Dún Laoghaire. Take a walk along the harbour and stroll around the shops on George's Street. While you're there grab an ice cream from Teddy's on Windsor Terrace. The ice cream shop has been open since 1950 and is a household name in Dublin.   3. The drive: Causeway Coastal Route The Causeway Coastal Route runs from Belfast to Derry and is 190km long. If you're not looking for a mammoth Sunday drive the route is broken up into nine shorter drives that are perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Along the way, you will see lots of lovely coastal scenery as well as tourist favourites, The Giant's Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. The ice cream: Morelli's, Portstewart Morelli's in Portstewart is just a short hop from the Causeway Coastal Route and definitely worth the trip. The ice cream parlour which is right on the waterfront has been selling award winning ice cream since 1911. We recommend their chocolate dipped waffle cones, absolute heaven.   4. The drive: Wild Atlantic Way, Galway

Instead of tackling the Wild Atlantic Way all in one go why not break it up into chunks. The Galway section is perfect for a Sunday afternoon drive. We recommend starting in Connemara and driving into the city centre. Not only will you be treated to exceptional views but you will also get to stop off in lots of towns along the way. The ice cream: The Creamery, Salthill On your way to the city you can stop off at Salthill. The seaside town is home to one of Ireland's best ice cream parlours, The Creamery. Located right on the promenade it is the perfect place to sit and people watch on a nice day.   5. The drive: Slea Head Drive, Dingle Peninsula

Starting out in Dingle this loop around the most westerly part of Ireland takes in lovely views of the Atlantic as well as the Basket Islands. The route is 46km long and usually takes between 1-2 hours.  You can't go to Dingle without stopping off at Murphy's on Strand Street. The ice cream shop has been open since 2000 and prides itself on its ingredients. The ice cream parlour doesn't use colourings or flavourings in their ice cream and they taste amazing. We recommend the Dingle sea salt flavour.   6. The drive: Yeat's driving tour The spectacular sights of Sligo inspired much of Yeats' poetry, and it's not surprising when you take a drive around the county. From Lough Gill and Innisfree to Drumcliffe and Lissadell, there are so many beautiful spots to see in Sligo. The ice cream: Mammy Johnson Mammy always knows best which is probably why Mammy Johnson's ice cream parlour in Sligo is one of the best in the country. The ice cream parlour/sweet shop is every big kid's dream.
