This sandy-haired dog has been affectionately tagged as a 'Good Samaritan' online after he faithfully stayed watch over the body of his friend. The other dog had sadly been killed after he was hit by a car on a busy road in China.
The bereft dog refused to move for a whole night after his friend was struck, despite temperatures plummeting to as low as -13C.
Onlookers nearby put a stool next to the animals to alert drivers after the first accident.
Ma Hongyan told Sky News: "It is our stool. A kind-hearted woman put it next to the dogs to protect them from being hit again by another car."
Another onlooker said: "The dog has been here for his friend all night."
The next morning, a local restaurant owner took the white dog to bury him under a tree in the local park, while the faithful friend followed closely.
