Sainsbury's, the supermarket where the juice was bought, explained to Mashable that it's actually mould.
“Although it’s rare, a lack of refrigeration, damage to the carton, or drinking repeatedly from the carton could cause mould growth," a representative said. "We are arranging a gesture of goodwill for the customer."That gesture of goodwill would want to be a new set of eyeballs for poor Esme because you'd be a long time trying to forget that sight.
