Whether you've been going out for one month or a decade, thinking up fun date ideas can be hard. So before you get stuck in the dinner and movie rut, try to think outside the box and come up with some creative date ideas. Get your skates on Ice skating is the perfect date for this time of year. Even if you're a bit unsteady on your feet you're both guaranteed to have a great laugh. There are loads of ice-skating rinks all around Ireland this November and December in the run-up to the Christmas period. You can find out more about rinks near you here.

Chuckle at a Comedy Club There's nothing better to break the ice than a few laughs. Going to a comedy club is a fab date idea because you're definitely going to have a good time. Have a drink, sit back, and enjoy the jokes. If you're based in Dublin we recommend The Laughter Lounge or The International.

Go on a hike Okay, bare with me on this one. Going for a hike might seem like the last thing you want to do at this time of year but it actually is a great date. You can get a bit of exercise, see some stunning views, and spend time away from your phone. What's not to like? Take a trip to the opera Add a bit of sophistication to your evening and go to the opera. It's something you have to do at least once in your life and it's guaranteed to give you goosebumps. This November and December (30th-4th) the showstopping La Bohéme will be on at Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin. The opera, which is set in the latin quarter of Paris, was first premiered in 1896 and is now one of the most famous operas in the world. Ireland's own, Celine Byrne will be playing the lead role in this once in a lifetime performance. The opera is sung completely in Italian but don't worry because there will be English subtitles or surtitles as they are called at the opera.  We can't wait to see it. You can buy tickets here.  Act like a tourist Have you done all the touristy things in your area? Chances are you probably haven't. Why not spend the day visiting some of the best-known tourist attractions in your town to see what all the fuss is about? You never know you might actually learn something. Head to the seaside It's hard to beat a day by the seaside. No matter where you are based in Ireland you're not far from the coast, so why not make the most of it? Go for a lovely walk on the beach and treat yourself to some fish and chips afterwards. Ideal!

Drive each other up the walls Okay, not literally but indoor rock climbing is a great idea for a winter date. You can have a laugh, get your adrenaline pumping, and try something new together. There are lots of great centres all around the country that will cater to your level.

Rock the boat Have a date with a difference and go for a kayak. City Kayaking offers great days out in Dublin. They even have a Kayak, dinner, and drinks package as well as a tapas trail where you can kayak to all the best tapas places in the capital.
