It's the perfect place for a road trip The Amalfi coast stretches for 40km and one of the best ways to see the whole area is to take a little road trip. There is a fantastic coastal drive from Sorrento to Salerno that gives you unparalleled views of the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea. Along the way, you'll pass by gorgeous coastal towns like Ravello and Positano. Make sure you have your camera at the ready.
You'll never taste better food in your life Honestly! It goes without saying that Italian food is pretty amazing (pizza, pasta, gelato etc.) but the food along the Amalfi coast is like nothing I have ever experienced in Italy before. The seafood is amazing and pretty much as fresh as it gets. You'll also be treated to exceptional views in most restaurants.
There's so much to see The Amalfi Coast is bursting full of things to do and see. From the glorious 13th century cathedral in Amalfi to the historic little town of Atrani, you will be able to soak up as much Italian culture as possible during your trip. The Amalfi Coast is also a great place to explore other parts of Italy from. Pompeii is just a bus journey away and Naples is very accessible on public transport.
The beaches are great But not what you'd expect. If you're looking for white sands and long stretches of undisturbed beaches then you're in the wrong place but that doesn't mean Amalfi's beaches are not worth visiting. Because of the jagged coastline, most of Amalfi's beaches are made up of rocky bays and inlets. Thankfully, these are very sheltered and the gorgeous views more than make up for it.
It's a great place for an adventure. If you love outdoor activities then the Amalfi Coast is the place for you. Between fantastic watersports and outdoor walks, the area is an adrenaline junkie's paradise. If you like hiking then you have to try out Sentiero degli Dei or ''Path of the Gods'', a three-hour hike that will take you through the mountains from Praiano to Positano. The views are simply breath-taking.
