"I always worked hard and seldom would I ever take a holiday. I left home when I was 13 and began a job milking cows" continued Jessie.
Jessie is from a family of seven children and was born in a two-room farm cottage, leaving at 13 to become a milkmaid.
She worked in a hotel for most of her life and now lives in a care home in Aberdeen. She turned 109 on January 2nd and has many friends among the other residents and staff at the Crosby House care home. Last weekend, Frenchman Philippe Vocanson passed away at the age of 110. Although he never smoke or drank, he had a great love for both chocolate and cheese. Time to stock up on some of our favourite foods so, it shouldn't be too hard!Explore more on these topics:
