The devastated woman is one of many women who claim the retailer’s product gave them false positive results.
Michaela has spoken out about her experience to caution other woman. She said the incident has left her feeling “embarrassed”.
In light of this, Asda has issued an apology but insist its product complies with legislation.
A spokesperson for the company said:
“We want our customers to trust our products and ensure all our pregnancy test comply with strict legislation and all batches are quality tested." "We will not be issuing a recall on this product."Around the same time as taking the Asda pregnancy tests, Michaela took two Clearblue pregnancy tests. The latter tests came back negative so she didn't know what to think.
Speaking to PlymouthLive about this she said:
“My mind was all over the place. I called the doctors and made a midwife appointment. I didn't really know what was happening.” "I had to wait a week to see the midwife and when I did she said getting a false positive was extremely rare and that there was no point in testing my blood."
