Earlier this month we put out a call for an adventurous couple who wanted to make a healthy lifestyle change together.
Karen and Mark answered that call and, over the next twelve weeks, they’ll be giving us an honest, in-depth account about what life is like when you’re on the Weight Watchers plan. They’ll also be helping and supporting each other along the way.
This week Mark and Karen are talking about the temptation of Easter as well as the difficulty of fitting exercise into their daily routines.

So Easter has come and gone. I’ll admit I indulged myself in an Easter egg over the weekend and went out on Sunday night for a friend’s birthday, so I was not expecting there would be too much movement on the scales this week. It turned out I was down one pound which I was happy enough with, all things considered.
This week the class was dedicated to exercise which was good to see. The leader was motivating people to exercise wherever and whenever possible.
So far with Weight Watchers everything seems to be going well. I have started calculating ProPoints in my head quite easily now so I know where I am with my daily allowance and I don’t have to double check everything anymore! It’s great to be aware of what I am eating. Before I would have just had that extra biscuit without so much as a second thought.
At the moment I am nursing a little bit of an injury to my leg. I think it’s just a strained muscle from all the running so I will confine myself to doing floor exercises this week and see if I can keep up the results with a healthy diet. It will be interesting as I use my exercise to give me extra ProPoints during the week. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how it goes!

This was always going to be a hard week for anyone trying to watch their weight. At Easter (and about two months before it) the supermarket shelves are covered in chocolate with deals to buy more. I resisted up until this week when I decided I was going to indulge in a chocolate egg and it was amazing. It was worth every delicious ProPoint it cost me! I guess when I'm not gorging on chocolate every day I really appreciate times when I can.
I also had a lot of time off work this week which I thought would result in more time at the gym but it just turned out to be more time to eat, drink, sleep and panic about not being in the gym! Having the routine of work actually helps with eating patterns and exercising. When you have so much free time it's easy to lose track of what you are eating and when.
I also had to go to a different class this week as I wasn't working which was interesting as it was a smaller group with a different dynamic. I'm back at work now so hopefully that will help me get back on track.
I was down a pound this week which means I have hit the one stone mark. My next goal is my 10% mark which I think is at 17 or 18 pounds so hopefully I can get to that within the next three weeks!
