I reached a point after Christmas where the gym just wasn’t doing it for me anymore. I was bored of monotonous workouts and just wanted to try something new.
I've always been curious about Reformer Pilates because it involves two of my favourite things; resistance strength training coupled with a calm atmosphere.
The only thing that had me put off was the idea that it wasn’t going to be as strenuous of a workout as I was used to.
Starting Reformer Pilates has been both invigorating and challenging. I've engaged muscles I never knew I had over the past few weeks and the results for my body and mind have been amazing.
The controlled movements, guided by a calm instructor outside of the gym setting, require more focus, balance, and precision than I have ever used while exercising.
Physically, Reformer Pilates yields a whole myriad of benefits. The continuous resistance training tones muscles, enhancing strength and flexibility.
Meanwhile, the low-impact nature of the exercises reduces strain on joints, making it a feasible option for people of all fitness levels.
But the rewards don’t end there, they go beyond the physical realm. As you navigate through each movement with intention, reformer Pilates becomes a moving meditation, fostering mindfulness and stress relief.
The flow of exercises promotes better concentration, and it has become the perfect activity during the day for respite away from the busy office environment.
Ultimately, reformer Pilates nurtures both body and mind, leaving you feeling centred, empowered, and ready to conquer the day.
