A coroner has ruled that the death of playboy model Katie May was caused y a fatal tear in her neck.

The 34-year-old died suddenly in February this year. According to reports, a visit to the chiropractor caused the injury in her neck. The injury led to a “catastrophic” stroke that left the model on life support. The death certificate, obtained by TMZ, stated that May had suffered a blunt force injury during “neck manipulation by [a] chiropractor.” The injury prevented blood flow to the brain which provoked the stroke. Eerily, May tweeted when she first obtained injury.

May is survived by her 7-year-old daughter Mia. A crowdfund has been set up to try raise funds to send Mia to college. It details the special relationship May had with her daughter. “Katie lived for her daughter, who was not only the most important and most fulfilling part of her life, but also her best friend.  Katie’s daughter is a remarkable 7-year-old, and in many ways, she is like her mother: strong, smart, funny, with a sweet and kind soul willing to do anything to help a family member or friend in need.” While May had a substantial following online and had posed for Playboy, the crowdfund states that she was merely “on the cusp” of reaping the financial rewards. “Katie was taken from us all too soon at the young age of 34 and before she could share any of her hard work with her daughter.”
