The proud nation of Ireland has some pretty weird and wonderful breakfast habits.

Yup, when it comes to going all out with a glorious morning fry - absolutely nothing is off the menu. Think the likes of spicy wedges, sausages covered in marmalade, guacamole, steak, chilli flakes, and even fried mushy peas (say what now?). However, and as also revealed in a recent survey conducted by Aldi, Irish folk are most happy when tucking into the more mundane likes of eggs, rashers, brown bread, orange juice, ketchup, and black and white pudding. Indeed the most essential part of any Full Irish was deemed to be the humble sausage: four out of ten Aldi respondents reckoned it was a non-negotiable component. Meanwhile, when it came to eggs, 37 percent said they liked fried, with 33 percent preferring poached. Eight out of ten reported that they choose toast over bread. Our breakfast quirks include piling everything on top of the toast and eating it all up in one go, as well as not allowing the beans to touch any other food on the plate. Others said they spread the black or white pudding on toast, wrap it around a sausage, and dip it in ketchup. Thankfully, it was just small minority who fried their mushy peas (WHO are these people?!). The insightful survey was released by Aldi to promote its premium Specially Selected Full Irish ingredients. The fancy-pants range includes the likes of dry cured back rashers; handtied sausages; black pudding, and premium baked beans.
