Top chef says there are two meals best avoided in a restaurant.

If you're one of those people who finds it impossible to choose what you want from the menu (that's me), then the below guidelines will come in very useful. They might surprise you for some of these dishes are very popular and often ordered when treating yourself to a fancy restaurant dinner. In a bid to find out what dishes are best avoided, INSIDER spoke to several top chefs and discovered which foods can leave you disappointed. James Briscione, professional chef and Director of Culinary Research at the Institute of Culinary Education and it's safe to say that he knows his stuff when it comes to the food industry. He has two specific meat-related recommendations and the first is to avoid "well-done" meat. Why? Apparently, those in charge of the kitchen don't enjoy adhering to well-done requests unless of course, someone requires that their meat is made that way. James explains:

 "They typically reserve the least desirable cuts (thin, tougher pieces) to cook well done. In general, less attention is given to well-done orders".

The second piece of advice refers to fancy burgers with this food expert sharing his top tip which to be fair, makes a lot of sense. James says that expensive ingredients piled on a burger or using pricey cuts to make a burger is just a tactic to make more money and won't improve the overall taste.

"Good burgers are made from ground tough cuts of meat like chuck, brisket, or ribs. Grinding up expensive meat just to make a burger is a waste".
