No matter who you're flying with, the feed you get on a plane is usually nothing special.

If you're lucky it'll just be something plain but we've been served up a few things in the past that we struggled to even recognise. If you're caught on a long-haul flight where you really have to eat what you're given, one condiment could be the answer to making a boring meal a lot more edible. Michelin starred chef Jason Atherton has said that he avoids eating plane food when he can but will carry some hot sauce with him to spice it up if has to. It's a tip he learned from none other than his pal, actor Jude Law, he told Live Mint. "It was Law who told me to always take Tabasco on a plane. Airplane food is always bland, so it’s great to give it kick. "But I just try my hardest not to eat on planes (at all). I can normally do it up to about 12 hours. If I go to Australia, I have to eat, obviously, because it’s 24 hours on a plane for me. "I just eat the protein, drowned in Tabasco, which tastes OK - well, it tastes of Tabasco, to be honest." We'd be very partial to a bit of hot sauce here so it's definitely something we'll be trying. Now to find a hot sauce we can get through airport security...
