It's the age old question that people have been searching for the answer to since the delicious Jaffa Cake first landed on supermarket shelves in 1927. The Jaffa Cake is one of my favourite treats in the history of treats. I love the orange chocolate flavour, I love the cake part, I love it all. It is life to me and life is it. A lot of people feel the same about the orange flavoured treat, so it comes as no surprise that there has been a lot of interest in finding out the right way to eat a Jaffa Cake. Do you bite all around the sides? Do you eat the while thing in one go? Do you take two bites and gone? Well, I'm sorry to say but regardless of how you do it, you've probably been eating your Jaffa all wrong. According to a Jaffa Cakes representative, the chocolate part of the treat is actually the bottom and the cake part is the top. I know. Shocking. The news was confirmed this week by a Jaffa Cake fan who sent a message to Jaffa Cake's official page and asked "What side of the Jaffa is the bottom?" To which they replied: "Hi David, our Jaffa Cakes go through a reservoir of chocolate, so the chocolate is on the bottom. Thanks, Jaffa Cakes." Dave, the man who asked the question was blown away by the response writing back "WTF dude!" Same, Dave. Same. So if we were to eat a Jaffa Cake the right way the next time you take one of the treats out of the box, turn it upside down and then eat it. Now you are eating Jaffa Cakes the right way, the way they wee meant for consumption. You're welcome.
