The internet is reeling after the revelation that you can cook potato waffles in a toaster.

Yes, the hack has become quite the hot topic on Twitter with people calling the news “life changing”. The method has us reminiscing about our student days of toasted potatoes waffles and baked beans, but we didn’t know just how many delicious meals can be made with the humble kitchen appliance.

So, for any of you looking to try something new tonight or for those who just love a good hack, these seven meals are just for you. 1. Cheese toastie An oldie but a goodie. Grab yourself a toaster bag and add your assembled sandwich, two/three minutes in the toaster and you’re golden – get it? 2. Veggie burgers Now this is what we call a revelation. With no gross fat to worry about like with a beef burger, you can pop these bad boys in the toaster for a quick and crispy result. 3. Leftover pizza We’re big fans of zapping day-old pizza in the microwave, so we’re definitely willing to give this method a try. Again, put a slice in your toaster bags, push that lever down and wait to reap the rewards. 4. Sweet potato Sweet potato can be quite time consuming to cook and it's one of the reasons we oftentimes don't bother at all. Well, you can only imagine our delight when we realised this too can be toasted. Cut your potato up into centimetre-wide slices and toast for around 10-15 minutes. 5. Tortilla chips It’s always nice to have some snacks to put out when guests come over. So how about some homemade tortilla chips? Well, kind of. Using wraps or flour tortillas, toast for a few minutes and break apart into small crisps. Serve with some salsa and guacamole and you’re ready to impress your guests. 6. Crispy bacon Those toaster bags are being put to good use. This is a no-mess, no-fuss way of cooking the yummiest of snacks and we’ll never be using the grill again. 7. Roasted asparagus Guess what? Using your toaster bags again, pop a handful of asparagus spears in with some paprika and a drizzle of olive oil, and your in for one tasty treat.
