Currently, the feature is available to restaurants, pubs, and cafés across Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Galway. The company aims to make Table Service available to restaurants in other parts of the country over time.
The restaurants who choose to use Table Service will benefit from a zero percent commission on dine-in orders placed through the app. This was done to make adoption of the feature as widespread as possible and to support as many restaurants as possible. It helps restaurants increase their sales without losing their profit to the extra commission.
For restaurants that adopt Table Service, Deliveroo is also offering them the use of the Pickup service at zero percent commission for a three-month period. This follows a submission from Deliveroo and 57 independent Irish restaurants, calling for urgent Government support for the sector.
Will Shu, CEO of Deliveroo, said:
"Hundreds of our restaurant partners stayed open during the lockdown to deliver to local communities around the country. It is now time for the government, consumers, and for Deliveroo to deliver for our restaurants, helping them to survive on the high-street as they reopen for dine-in customers. Deliveroo wants to play a significant role in helping restaurants adopt tech-led solutions to reopen safely, especially smaller partners who otherwise would be unable to develop the technology and face huge financial burdens due to Covid-19."The Table Service feature is now available on the Deliveroo app.
