So fancy...
Don't get me wrong, I love a greasy 3-in-1 as much as the next girl but sometimes it's just nice to get dressed up and go out for a slap-up meal on pay day.
It's lovely to try something different but unfortunately, it's not a luxury we can afford day in and day out.
This weekend's American Powerball jackpot is a whopping €387,800,000 after rolling over 19 times! Thankfully Irish players can finally buy a ticket on
Mutilotto.ie, which inevitably got me daydreaming about all the amazing dishes I could buy with that moolah.
So, without further adieu here are some of the fanciest restaurants you can eat in around the world.
These are a far cry from your local chipper.
Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, Maldives.
Live out your Little Mermaid fantasy and have dinner with the fishes. Ithaa Undersea Restaurant sits five meters below the Indian Ocean's surface and offers amazing views of the local coral gardens. The restaurant serves European cuisine in a six-course set dinner menu which starts at a whopping $320 per person without drinks or a tip. Better start saving.
Plaza Athénée, Paris.
Paris just oozes luxury and the Plaza Athénée is one of the most iconic hotels in the city. Owned by internationally renowned chef Alain Ducasse, a meal here is likely to set you back around €500. Guests are seated in a beautiful Versaille-style dining room which features a chandelier made up of 10,000 crystal pendants, but to be honest, we would rather sit on their famous balcony.
Ristorante Grotta Palazzese, Italy.
At roughly €200 a head, Ristorante Grotta Palazzese is not the most expensive restaurant on our list but it certainly is one of the most interesting. The restaurant, which is in southern Italy, is set inside a cave and provides diners with a completely unique experience. Naturally enough, there's lots of seafood on the menu.
Asiate, New York.
You'll be able to experience the true fanciness of Manhattan's upper west side at Asiate. The restaurant is perched 35 stories up in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel which gives you amazing views of Central Park and beyond. Asiate offers a seven-course tasting menu for $135 but if that doesn't suit your budget you can always go for a three-course brunch instead which costs ¢54. Just try not to spend the whole time taking photos.
Northern Lights Bar, Iceland.
This amazing bar/restaurant is part of the fabulous Ion Adventure Hotel about an hour outside Reykjavík. If the restaurant's amazing menu isn't enough to get you excited then perhaps the 360-degree views of the northern lights will. Book a night's stay to make it really special.
