How much do you know about sexual health?

We all like to think that we know what we're doing when it comes to sex. Everyone gets the usual sex-ed class in school, but how much does that really teach us? Do we actually know all the ins and outs of what's going on inside our bodies, all the best ways to look after our sexual health, and are we doing enough to keep ourselves safe and healthy? As part of its #FactNotFiction campaign, morning-after pill brand ellaOne conducted a survey of 18-35 year olds and found some pretty interesting results. For example, almost half of the female respondents (44 percent) said that they have had unprotected sex, where the contraception failed or where no contraception was used at all (when trying not to conceive) in the last 12 months. However, only 26 percent of those women took emergency contraception. With 20 percent of respondents stating that they had had sex before receiving any formal sex education at all, it made us wonder just how much people actually know about sex and sexual health before they decide to do the deed. So we thought we'd test it. We teamed up with ellaOne to quiz Irish influencers Clarabell and Grainne Binns on the subject of sex. We read them a list of statements about different topics relating to sexual health and had them tell us whether those statements were fact or fiction. Have a look see how they got on.
