One thing that most girls struggle with is getting a good night sleep. Cramps, bloating and leg pain can make finding a comfortable position very difficult. But according to Glamour, one position is recommended above all others by experts. After they asked several experts about the topic of sleeping while menstruating, they unanimously named the 'foetal' position. Bringing your knees up towards your stomach, and bending your spine slightly is said to be the best way to sleep because it takes pressure of the abdominal muscles. Dr. Wider also said that the sleeping position to be avoided when on your period  is lying on your stomach. This puts pressure on your stomach area which will already be sensitive, which could cause more pain. The position also puts pressure on your uterus so that more blood comes out, which could cause leaks during the night. So next time you're struggling to sleep due to cramps, try curling up into the foetal position.
