Clash of the Ash: The All Ireland Camogie Finals in Association with RTE Sport

After the thrilling clash between Galway and Kilkenny last weekend, it’s time for the women to shine! 

The All Ireland Camogie Finals take place in Croke Park this Sunday, September 16^th.

First up is the Junior Final, where Down take on Meath at noon.

Derry face Galway in the Intermediate tie at 2.00pm, before the main attraction gets underway at 4.00, with Wexford taking on Cork in the Senior Final.

Six counties in action, and countless hearts in mouths as supporters from all over the country don their jerseys and hit the road hoping to see their heroines lift a cup after all the hard-fought battles along the way.

Tickets are priced at €30 per adult, €15 for students & OAPs, and €5 for juveniles, incredible value for what’s certain to be a day of top-class action and entertainment.

Speaking earlier this week at the Captains’ Day photocall at GAA HQ, Aileen Lawlor, President of the Camogie Association, urged supporters to get behind the teams and travel to cheer them on for the big day.

She said; “We are one of the largest female sports organisations in the country and I am making a direct appeal to all our members to come to Croke Park on Sunday for three top class games played by superb athletes and excellent ambassadors for the game of camogie. I am also extending that invite to all involved in Gaelic games and to general sports fans to witness the fastest field sport for women in the world.

“Sunday’s finals are one of the largest female sporting events in the country and given the increased coverage and deserved credit that women in sport, across a variety of disciplines have garnered this year alone, our upcoming games provide another opportunity to fix the spotlight firmly on our female sports stars and showcase their talents to a huge national audience.”

For those who cannot travel on the day, the Senior and Intermediate Finals will be broadcast live on RTÉ The Sunday Game with the Senior game also on RTÉ Radio One Sunday Sport and the Premier Junior final available on RTÉ.ie.
