Now that the Bank Holiday Weekend has been and gone, is it time you thought about a detox?
Just a few short months ago we were busy making New Year’s resolutions to get fitter, faster, but that may have fallen by the wayside for more than one of us, and now that there’s a ‘bit of a stretch’ in the evenings, it’s time to get back on track!
Cutting back on the bevvies will not only save you some serious cash, but it will also help you stay in shape. Not to alarm you, (and what’s done is done remember!), but check out the calories in some of your favourite tipples…

They may not look like much here, but how often do you just have the one?
Now that we’re coming into BBQ season (you know, those three nice days we get a year) it might be hard to avoid the beers, but check out some of these alcohol-free cocktails from SpunOut.ie. You’ll avoid any bloating associated with drinking and probably get some of your five a day as well!
You don't need to wave goodbye to your social life, but there’s no harm in a reminder every now and again that it doesn’t have to revolve around the pub.
If you’ve ever thought you could do with a break from the bar, check out the new Hello Sunday Mornings campaign.
HSM is all about having a look at your relationship with alcohol, taking a break for three or six months and essentially, saying hello to your Sunday mornings again. If you’re a dedicated Saturday night partygoer, just imagine what you could achieve on a Sunday without a hangover?
The great thing about Hello Sunday Morning is that it’s not preachy and you can set goals for yourself for things you would like to do with your Sunday mornings, as well as blogging about it online, so you can share your drink-free diary with some fellow-minded people. There are others on the HSM website that you can follow and get support from when you’re struggling to say no to that attractive glass of vino.
So if you’ve been suffering from The Fear, or wasted Sundays for too long now, think about giving your brain and your liver a break!
